Banksy is one of the most renowned and famous contemporary artists in the world. He is far from being just a graffiti artists, he is also a\u00a0political activist, film director, and painter. Nowadays many of his works are protected and they are selling for hundreds of thousands of pounds.<\/p>\n
\u00a0The above photo shows an original Banksy work altered by his rival Robbo, whom he was on a graffiti war with. The sign originally said ‘obviously something different’. See below another Banksy work (behind the protective shield).<\/p>\n Christian Nagel<\/strong><\/p>\n Christian Nagel has a very different style than any other street artrist i know (not that I know too many). He does not paint, but puts up mushrooms on buildings across all Europe. Christian explains the meaning of this: ‘Mushrooms\u00a0are transient, quick lived things, just like street art. I like how you\u2019d walk down the same street you\u00a0do every day and suddenly mushrooms have sprouted everywhere. It\u2019s fast, modern art in contrast to\u00a0someone like Da Vinci who took years to complete a fresco.’<\/p>\n Eine<\/strong><\/p>\n Eine was among the early pioneers of street art in Shoreditch.\u00a0A painting by him was among the official gifts to Barack Obama from David Cameron on his first trip to Washington as prime minister. He has also worked with brands like Virgin Atlantic and was part of the project ‘Art in the skies’, where his work was literally in the air, on board of Virgin Atlantic planes.<\/p>\n Stik<\/strong><\/p>\n Stik was definitely my favourite street artist we came across the tour. He paints simple stick figures, who despite being very minimalist somehow manage to portray real emotions. It is the cute kind of street art that makes you think about everything nice and cuddly and does not convey an image of something illegal and dangerous at all. He started off as any graffiti writer, doing his work illegally but is now often invited to paint walls legally.<\/p>\n Paul Don Smith (aka DON)<\/strong><\/p>\n Don has been painting on the streets for almost 30 years now. His works can be found\u00a0all over Shoreditch and can be recognised by his multi-colored stencil and freehand sprayed backdrops.\u00a0During the Olympics, Paul “Don” Smith was busy painting portraits of the Olympians.
